STARSQUALL
Our mission
Improving the outcomes of an increasingly satellite‑dependent society.
More than 16,000 active satellites carry the signals modern work runs on — navigation, guidance, timing. Weather from the sun bends those signals and drags on the machines that send them. Starsquall watches the space between the sun and Earth and turns it into decisions: a plain forecast before trouble arrives, and a clear account of what happened after.
Live — the sky right now
Reading the sky…
A constant stream of charged particles blowing off the sun, measured a million miles upstream of Earth. When it runs fast and its magnetic field tips south, storms follow within hours — and precision GPS starts to wander.
The ring of light around the poles. Beautiful overhead — and the same energy that paints it also rattles radio and navigation signals. The stronger it burns, the farther south both reach.
Storm heat swells the upper atmosphere into the lanes satellites fly, and thicker air slows them down. In 2022 a minor storm dragged 38 brand-new satellites out of the sky.

Terra — forecasts for precision work
Know before the sky costs you a field day.
Solar storms scramble the corrected GPS that steers tractors, drones, survey rovers, and graders. In May 2024, one storm pushed receivers up to 230 feet off course in the middle of planting season — roughly half a billion dollars lost in a week. Terra watches for the next one and tells you plainly — green, amber, or red for your region — with time to reschedule.
Built for — precision agriculture · survey crews · drone fleets · machine control
Astra — storm forensics
After the storm — what did it do to your fleet?
When satellites drop, drift, or age faster than planned, someone owns the bill. Astra reconstructs what a storm did to a specific orbit: evidence for operators, insurers, and anyone who has to explain an anomaly. It runs as open research until its accuracy has earned your trust — findings publish here first.
